I have not seen working x64 viruses, so I never used any particular anti-virus software.

Possibly because x64 OSes aren't as mainstream as x32 OSes at the moment. It's like the old browser wars - people claim IE has more vulnerabilities just because it is the dominant browser. I think same could be said of OSes.

no, ms one care is not theirs. they bought the romanian's company Gecad AV division (RAV) and developed the av based on that (only a whole lot weaker then what rav was back then compared to other AVs)

proably because development was halted for a long time, no signatures were added on a regular basis etc.
