Yes, right, tests are very interesting and important, IMO.
No matter what professional say about their work, public will search for test report to take a decision.

Was going to post these but you beat me to it. biggrin.gif

I personally post in his forum however I have slowly declined due to one of the mods seems to be being a tad bit off with people.

For me manners and being polite don't cost anything

Read most of the topics there and it is good to get some feedback.

I have noticed that flash videos are an on going bug. I find they work quite fine at present. They may not load straight up, but they are downloading to the computer. If you want quick response times, look at modifying the buffer time. There are other settings you can play with though to work with the web A/V. To date though, i've noticed the installer can depict how it runs, if you have problems, download off another server and try a fresh install.

The thing I like most about the package is the choice to turn on and off settings. If you do a lot of system configuration before you install KIS/KAV, you find there isn't a real lot of items in the security suite needed to be installed. However the average user does not do this and configuring of KIS/KAV is needed. There is a lot to learn, yes, and most users just want a set and forget package, and the comments in those links only highlight that.

Maybe the team may need to evaluate what they offer long term, but not picking up a malware, yet another software does, isn't saying it is failing.
Tests aren't as good as they may sound due to the way it is set up. We have a web scanner, a pro-active defense, definitions, application control coupled with what seems a firewall that has improved quite a lot, yet tests are used as a default install. There are a few settings turned off by default for the average user, but once you start applying a few changes, it really starts to function, and very solid.

As for the bugs, well they all have them, I see a lot say how great Online Armor is, and while it looks like it going to be a serious opponent to KIS, Comodo etc, it for me at least still early in development, it has a driver, on 2 boxes, been left behind while uninstalling. I like what is being offered though. comodo while a great program is showing traits of being unethical, it had showed probles for me too. As for the Avira runs really well and smooth, and it's detection is top notch, still it is short on some of the features it just doesn't have. Avast is another good program, too, but I've seen system slow downs too, some of the computers run fine, some don't. NIS, the new version I have not played with yet, but general feedback is it is picking up again. Kaspersky may need to look at development and what is good v's what is functionable. They seem to be a little behind the Symantec boys there, but considering the development, NIS should have been better a while back, they seriously let the users down for a while, hopefully Kaspersky doesn't drag the line and hurt it's name doing the same thing.

What I'm basically trying to say though. The new design of security products has really started to use the root of the system to help protect you, while Microsoft, not applying certain rules, including allowing internet usage pre SP2 firewall in admin mode was fatal. Now the security companys are closing the gap for security. Comodo was the first to seriously push behaviour design, then Kaspersky, now Online Armor. They are all still young in what enevitably be the future of security. While Microsft are now applying certain rules, kernel mode protection for example that hinder all the development of the security products. Add to that the pot full of 0-day exploits, trojans, virus', worms, keyloggers, spyware etc, etc out there. It is a hard game to be taking part in, and users lack of knowledge doesn't help.

Lighten up, stop wanting everything of one product, find what works for you, and stick to it. They all have problems, and all have their valid points.
I think I've said enough.
