Hello guys and girls!

:) :)

Hi & welcome. I guess you are the one who make a lot of beautiful skins for KIS6.0, right?

But I wonder whether there are any girls in this forum. At least I don't know any female member here. :)

Women are not interested in testing how a computer works, they're just interested in computers as a way of communication with me :).

Not all women. My girlfriend was pretty interested at how to make the computer more secure, and she learns pretty quickly. Also she plays Ragnarok Online pretty well, and has decent Photoshop skills. And, at my university, half our "numeric arts and multimedia" section is women.

Yes, they never care about internet security. I can say that at least 50% of the girls' computers from my universities are plagued by viruses, worms or trojans.

Last year at my game design and making school, all computers were infected by viruses. And nearly all of the school was men/boys. Why ? Stupid network infrastructure with no AV, no firewall, only a crappy system restore system that completely ruined the computers' performance. Needless to say, I always took my laptop with me, and didn't connect to their network.

The worst infections the school had, was a Parite.B (or parity.B, I don't recall which one it was) that destroyed exe's on the disk, and the other was Tenga.A, that infected them and spread accross the network very quickly.

edit : I also forgot to mention, the tenga.A virus, with no AV, remained on every other school computer for two months. Just for 'test' purposes, I installed Nod or KIS on the computers, each tme it found nearly all EXE's on disk to be infected. Plus Tenga did append itself not to the end of the file, but to the end of the executable part, meaning a goodbye to every SFX archive / setup package.

Girls should and do call us to fix their computers. I don't like having a girlfriend that knows too much about computers. It's not like I mind or something, it's just that she's not that interested in the art of life, and instead she's more of a math girld, if you know what I mean...

Michael

That was the same at my ex-high school, but it's disabled and they have done a good job limiting the users possiblity. You are a limited user, you can't change anything and don't have writing permissions in everything but a folder.

We only had c:\user and c:\documents and settings\<user name> & i think all users\documents too.
Of course we were only interested in CS and Warcraft III.
