More powerful then voodoo smile.gif

PS: Take a look at some of the previous posts in this topic if you need more information or some help about this. Also the old reported problem, with importing/exporting the file to google reader using google chrome browser, seems to be fixed with the latest versions of google chrome browser.

yes it is smile.gif

luckily no one is forcing you to read all of it... i normally make a quick check for updates few times per day and read only those that seem interesting or mark them for bed time reading. the nice things about it is when something is happening in the security world you can be quite sure to know about it and be on top of it, like for example the several 0-day exploits from the last few days.

internetsafetypodcast.com is back with its June 30 2009 Podcast #20: Viruses and Other Malware:

Dr. Charles Knutson and Joe Brockbank discuss malware, including viruses, worms, adware, spyware, Trojan horses, and other annoying evil software phenomena.

I just downloaded and will post my comments here after listening.

so, since i think of the "knowledge" as the second* most important thing in protecting systems, i hope that the above list is a valuable source of informations that does help you to better understand general concepts and technologies in system security as also to help you stay on top of the latest "hot" topics like some malware outbreaks and new software vulnerabilities smile.gif

while i will continue to update the above list from time to time, this time i would like to give those that can't get enough of this a link to another, quite large, collection of security related feeds that was put together by Christian Heinrich. as always, if you find some new feeds in this list that you think are a "must read" and are not in my list, please let the rest of us know about it.

>>> http://www.bloglines.com/public/cmlh <<<
there is an option at the bottom of the feeds list, that allows you to export the list to an opml file (similar to my file above), however i did not yet try to export it and import it in to some other feed reader (like google reader), so i am not sure how well exporting/importing would work.

* first is system hardening and patching, security software like av are more in the back smile.gif

Thanx for sharing those! It is really great to see users "getting the knowledge". I would however suggest to anyone to really try out using the feeds instead of visiting all the blogs, it is so much easier.

To those that are new to feeds: All blogs are normally build with this feed technology (RSS, Atom) that allows them not just to publish the posts on the original site of the blog but is also able to "push" them to the clients. As I have said before, for the "client" you can use a feed reader program installed on your computer (http://www.feedreader.com/, http://www.newsgator.com/Individuals/FeedDemon/,...) or you can use an online feed reader from your browser (http://www.google.com/reader/, http://www.bloglines.com/,...) also allot of the browsers and email clients have support for this build-in. I think it is well worth taking little bit of time to set this up.

Then you will get all posts from all blogs you follow in one place, in your feed reader.
