there's a trick rename the old uxtheme file to uxtheme.dll.old (you should be able to do that and the file will still be used) copy the new one next to it and reboot, at the reboot the uxtheme.dll (new one) should be taken into consideration and the .old forgotten.

I use Windows XP theme, but modified with the Coffee Bean desktop wallpaper and the Start menu is in classic style as per Win 98.

Heard all the people talking about vista transformation packs, so I decided to try one. I guess I was wrong to trust pcworld.com, because the vista transformation pack found at h**p://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_download/fid,64389-order,4-page,1-c,desktop/download.html Wound up giving me what you see in the picture....a Trojan and riskwares. I used to use a traditional Chinese New Year theme, but I don't know whether I can still find it. Now I use the default Windows theme.

My theme is Royale Noir - http://en.wikipedia....iki/Energy_Blue
(towards the bottom of the Energy Blue page)

This plus Pipkin's AMD 64X2 desktop gives a clean simple desktop. Will be like this for a long time to come, just can't bring myself to like any setup as well as this simple match. :D
