I like multiple types of games, especially strategy and role-playing games, some of my favourites are:

Command & Conquer (older ones - particularly Tiberian Sun and Tiberian Dawn)
Civilization IV
Dragon Age: Origins
The Witcher
Mass Effect

I don't really like normal FPS's like Counter-Strike, but I love realistic war simulators like Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis and ARMA 2.

RACE 07 - It is great fun hammering round the Nordschleife in a Caterham CSR 320 Concept with all AI driving aids off and full damage on. Balancing the steering, brakes, gears and throttle in a rear wheel drive 320bhp car that weighs less than a super mini and gets airbourne over crests keeps me out of trouble for a good few hours.

So many other race modes and no room to hide if you put a wheel wrong. Still the best racing simulator on PC for me because of that.

I own and like GRID, FUEL and DIRT 2 but find them better for mindless arcade action over the net with friends. Their offline modes are dull as dishwater :ninja:

I don't usually care about driving simulators, but some time ago my brother bought a steering wheel and Need for Speed Shift, and playing it has been pretty fun (thanks to the steering wheel - it wouldn't be fun with a keyboard). We don't have any other driving simulators though.

Lately I've been addicted to League of Legends - a fun, quite competitive strategy game. Very fun to team up with friends to see how well you play compared to other people in the world.

Just installed Doom 3, the now classic FPS on Linux Mint using this guide for ubuntu. What inspired me to try it was reading about id software finally releasing the game engine under GPL3 after 7 years since the game's release. I searched to see if there was a Linux port of the game or whether it would need WINE. Thankfully, id software actually created a native Linux installer so it runs in OpenGL without any emulation requirements.

It is still great fun, even though I completed the game back in the day.
